WHAT ARE PETROCHEMICALS?

Petrochemicals are manufactured from crude petroleum, one of the most common petrochemicals found in skin care products is petrolatum, also known as petroleum jelly.

WHY SHOULD PETROLEUM JELLY BE AVOIDED?

It is listed as a probable human carcinogen by the European Union (EU). It is banned in EU Cosmetics (unless very specific purification standards are met). It is commonly contaminated with Polycyclic Aromatic HydrocarbOns (PAHS). PAHS are strongly linked to a wide variety of detrimental diseases. And It tends to interfere with the body's own natural moisturising mechanism, leading to dry skin and chapping.

I brought this as handcream but found it too greasy. But It smells fantastic and I have been using it as a healing cream for scrapes an cuts and it is working well.

Great to prevent abrasions when running or biking. Stops my back-pack chafing on epic runs. Good for lips and really dry hands too! (But too greasy for regular hand cream.)

Lovely as a lip balm or for extra dry skin... I use it on my hands without any problems as my skin gets super-dry gardening. Also brilliant on heels.
