Blackmores Peritone combines the laxative herbs cascara and cape aloes to help maintain healthy bowel habits, and ginger, cardamom and peppermint to help maintain regularity without discomfort.

Features & Benefits:

  • Helps maintain regularity by supporting the bowel’s natural peristalsis.
  • Gentle overnight action supports morning regularity.
  • Includes ingredients traditionally used to calm the digestive system, so does not cause the discomfort sometimes associated with laxative use.

How it Works:

Cascara and cape aloes contain compounds called anthraquinone glycosides, which support peristalsis (the natural wave-like muscle contractions of the intestines) and consequently help maintain bowel regularity.

The gentle action of these herbs in Blackmores Peritone is enhanced by ginger, cardamom and peppermint, which have traditionally been used to relieve digestive discomfort and support comfortable bowel movements.

Active Ingredients:

Aloe ferox (Cape Aloes) leaf inner juice powder 120mg
Rhamnus purshianus (Cascara) extract equivalent to dry bark 140mg
Zingiber officinale (Ginger) root powder 20mg
Elettaria cardamomum (Cardamom) fruit powder 5mg
Peppermint oil 300µg

Adults: Take 1 tablet with a full glass of water with main meal and 1 tablet before bed, or as professionally prescribed.

Do not use during pregnancy and breast-feeding

Do not use if abdominal pain, nausea, or vomiting are present, or if you develop diarrhoea

Overuse (excessive doses and/or duration of use) may lead to dependence and/or fluid and mineral depletion

Prolonged use of laxatives may cause serious bowel problems

For ongoing management of constipation it is recommended that bowel regularity is improved by including plenty of water and fibre in the diet, and regular exercise.
