Badger

Back in 1995 "Badger" Bill Whyte had a dream about a cure for his extremely winter chapped hands, and in the morning he mixed up some beeswax and olive oil in a pot on his kitchen stove. He then experimented with the formula. His fingers were soon healed, and a new business was born. Bill and Katie started making Badger Balm in the kitchen of their home with the support and help of their daughters Mia, Emily, and Rebecca. They wanted to run a business that is fun, fair and profitable; where money is fuel, not a goal; and where their vision for a healthier world finds expression through the way they work and through the way they treat each other and the people they serve. These goals continue to guide the direction of this company.

If you are looking for a non-greasy, quickly and easily absorbed, micro-nano, non-greasy and conventional sunscreen...this is not it.
However if you're happy with a sunscreen that works and is certified organic with ingredients a child would understand, then Badger sunscreens are for you.
Personally, I work outdoors in horticulture, so don't actually care about the grease/whitening factor much, in terms of aesthetics. It's not ideal if you're going for subtle, but my priority is a organic, non-micro nano sunscreen and this fits the bill, more so than other sunscreens boldly claiming "natural" when being anything but. I've been using for a couple years now and one 87mL container lasts me more than 6 months so I feel that justifies the price. A little goes a long way.

  • Effective but does leave you looking quite white!

I use this on myself and my preschool children. It offers good protection however it's very thick and leaves us looking quite white. I would, however, rather look a little white and know that I am not putting chemicals on my skin than "appear" better but be potentially poisoning myself and my children. At least you know where you have already applied it!

  • disappointing

Not nearly as good as the Green People sun cream (that you no longer stock), which we all loved. Thick, difficult to rub in and leaves skin very white.Gathers in creases and looks very unattractive. I also don't feel it's as effective as other organic makes. Shame.
