35 years of delivering wellness

Since 1988, we’ve been delivering wellness across Aotearoa and abroad.

From opening up to the world wide web, moving into our warehouse in Mohua Golden Bay, to stocking our shelves with sustainable products and raising the bar for natural health with rigorous standards, as a B Corp certified business that's a force for good, we're on a mission to make mindful, healthy choices easier.

Meet the HealthPost family

“Natural health and HealthPost are a huge part of who I am. I grew up surrounded by plant medicine and was immersed from a young age in the value of this and the importance of doing the right thing by our customers and community.”

- Abel Butler,
HealthPost CEO

"As a responsible business, we live and breathe our values, and we’re grateful to partner with many like-minded groups who guide us along the way. As a large employer based in a small community, we’re naturally connected to the impact of our decision-making on those around us.”

- Lucy Butler,
HealthPost Sustainability Lead

Our history

An ethically-minded business since day one.

Today

Our ethical evolution

We’re on an ethical evolution – growing, learning, and redefining what it means to be a responsible retailer.

Your values, needs and feedback guides us – from the natural health and wellness products you use and love, to the values that inform your choices, to the content you choose to consume. We’re grateful to have you on this journey with us.

2017-2021

Shop by your values

We created New Zealand’s bar-raising ingredient, ethical, and environmental standards – known back then as our Better Choices Promise.

Shop Your Way is launched, with 40+ filters for customers to shop by what matters most to them – whether that’s products that are organic, carbon neutral, or New Zealand made. We make it easier for our community to back brands that share their values with the launch of Mindful Brands in 2021.

2010-2017

Caring for people and planet

During these years we cement our sustainability commitments, and learn a lot along the way.

We begin offsetting our carbon, plant thousands of trees, and instal 72 solar panels to operate our warehouse sustainably. In 2017 the HealthPost Nature Trust is born, with a vision to create an Ecosanctuary so that threatened species and wildlife can flourish. And they are!

2000s

Open to the world

We welcome the world wide web and begin delivering wellness all around the globe.

After 20 years, Linley passes the baton of leadership on to her son Abel, daughter Lucy, and their father Peter. In 2009 we start donating $1 for every online order to our customer’s charity of choice, an initiative that’s led to over $1 million donated to worthy causes thanks to our amazing customers.

1988

Humble beginnings

HealthPost is born when founder, Linley Butler, starts selling barley grass to her friends out of her home in beautiful Mohua - Golden Bay.

Her founding principle is simply to make natural health more affordable and accessible – a principle that remains firmly at the heart of our company. Juggling three kids, phone/post/fax orders, and a growing range, word soon gets out.
