doing WELL - Tree planting Motupipi sandspit
On Friday 9th April 2010 we closed up early (having dispatched everything we could that day of course!) and met up with Coast Care to replant the Motupipi Sandspit. This area had been planted about 12 months earlier but was destroyed in a fire soon after. We planted approximately 800-900 trees in total and have since been told that all of these have survived. By doing this we've helped take the first step in Coast Care's ultimate goal of restoring this beautiful piece of coastline to a native forest of predominately Totara (as it probably was once long ago). How good would that be?
Our appreciation to our staff for your enthusiasm and our thanks to our customers for supporting sustainable business.
A year on and HealthPost is back at Motupipi Sandspit, continuing our commitment to restoring the native forest in this area. The top 5 photos are from our most recent expedition on Friday 20th May 2011. Learn more about HealthPost's environmental policy.
