Thursday Plantation Tea Tree Head Lice Gel assists in naturally controlling head lice and nits. With Tea Tree Oil, a natural antiseptic to support scalp and hair health.
With high high terpinen-4-ol content, the primary germicidal active, and low para-cymene content to minimise skin irritation.
Tested to ensure pesticide-free oil, with protective harvesting, handling, and storage and to ensure product potency and efficacy. Free of harsh chemicals in a gel formula which will not run into children's eyes.
An independent study evaluated six popular Australian over-the counter products against head lice, primarily comprised of different botanical extracts, and compared them with permethrin 1% (Quellada) and a non-treatment control in order to assess their in vitro efficacy.
All tested products failed to demonstrate high levels of efficacy with the exception of Thursday Plantation Tea Tree Gel, which outperformed 1% permethrin. Permethrin had a high level of efficacy, but using stringent criteria 18% of lice were not dead at 3 hours, indicating some resistance.
After 3 hours only Thursday Plantation Head Lice Gel left no active lice!
Directions:
Massage the gel (1 tablespoon for short hair, 2-3 tablespoons for long hair) into dry hair and scalp. Leave in for 20 minutes. Rinse and follow with Thursday Plantation Tea Tree Conditioner.
Comb with a fine tooth nit comb, wiping the comb onto a tissue to remove head lice and nits and/or rinse comb under running water. Work through hair, combing sections at a time. Repeat the application again in five days.
