What is a probiotic?

The word probiotic actually means ‘for life’. The World Health Organisation define a probiotic as ‘live micro-organism which, when administered in adequate amounts counter a health benefit on the host’. Probiotics are friendly bacteria that live in your digestive system.

The human digestive system contains over 400 different species of micro-organisms. On average, an adult human carries approximately two to four kilograms of bacterial gut flora. This represents an enormous number of bacteria. The reason we need so many bacteria inside us is because we require them for many beneficial actions within the body. They help keep our digestive system healthy, help us digest food, make certain nutrients that we are unable to make ourselves and help maintain a healthy immune system.

Lactobacillus Acidophilus (NCFM)organisms 12.5 billion

Bifidobacterium Lactis organisms 12.5 billion

Colostrum Powder - Bovine 67mg

Free from wheat, gluten, eggs, yeast and artificial flavours, colours and sweeteners.

All products in the Inner Health range are GM Free.

Directions

Adults and children over five years: Take 1 capsule daily or as directed by a healthcare professional.

This product is not suitable for use in infants except on the advice of a healthcare professional.

This product must be refrigerated to retain its potency.

Precautions

Probioplex consists of lactalbumin and rice maltodextrin.

Bovine colostrum powder contains lactose and cow’s milk proteins.

I started taking these on recommendation from the pharmacist whilst on a course of anitbiotics and my digestion (which i'd always had issues with) improved so much that i've just kept taking them. That was 2 years ago and i can honestly say that as well as better digestion, i haven't had a single cold, flu, or sore throat in that time. Wonderful stuff for keeping your immune system happy and healthy.

I used to get thrush every few months, which was horrible! I haven't had thrush since taking this product (I've been taking it every day for a couple of years now). It's one of those products that are hard to see the benefits until you think about the things that aren't happening to you health-wise.
