Ginkgo Biloba is the world’s oldest living species of tree and is considered to be more than 200 million years old. Its leaf resembles a fan or the maidenhair fern so it is frequently referred to as the “Maidenhair tree”.
Helpful for: poor circulation; c hilblains, Raynaud’s Syndrome; to relieve varicose veins; therosclerosis, angina, congestive heart failure, intermittent claudication, thrombosis (Gingko encourages vasodilation); memory loss, poor concentration; to enhance alertness and mental focu; ringing in the ears (Tinnitus) due to circulation problems; and depression or lack of motivation.
GINKGO BILOBA
- The leaves of Ginkgo biloba are rich in flavonoids and proanthocyanidins which have a pharmacological effect on the circulatory system, i.e. arteries, capillaries, veins, myocardium.
- Ginkgo biloba causes vasodilation and therefore increased circulation. It enhances ATP synthesis and increases cellular glucose uptake increasing energy available to cells. Ginkgo inhibits platelet aggregation (the tendency to form blood clots) and is a free radical scavenger.

- Ginkgo biloba improves neural function. In one double-blind study, the reaction times of healthy young women performing a memory test were improved significantly after the administration of ginkgo biloba.
- Beneficial for peripheral arterial insufficiency. In a double-blind randomised clinical trial with matched groups of patients with peripheral arterial insufficiency of the lower limb, ginkgo biloba extract was shown to be clinically effective.

Dose:
Adults: Take 2 to 3 tablets daily with food or as directed by your health practitioner.Not suitable for children under 12 years.
