Green Tea

In terms of hot drinks, not much beats a good cup of tea. And for thousands of years, long before its benefits were known by science, green tea has been a perennial favourite of health-conscious folk wanting to give themselves a boost of goodness every day. Rich in antioxidants and flavour, its popularity is none too surprising.

Green Tea Info

The leaves of the Camellia sinensis (tea) plant have been brewed as a drink for eons. Originating in China, green tea is made from tea leaves which are picked and then heated, rolled or dried to preserve the natural polyphenol compounds that give it its unique flavour and benefits. This leaves a tea high in antioxidant compounds, which may help prevent free radical damage and protect against the effects of pollution. It is also rich in minerals, the feel-good compound l-theanine, and catechins that may assist the body in fighting infection, including the decay-causing bacteria Strep. mutans.

There are many varieties of green tea available today, including the ever-popular matcha powder, capsules for those who wish to experience the benefits without the flavour, and zingy fruit blends to add an extra dimension to the tea drinking experience.

Very nice green tea product. I am on a fast at the mo and this matcha green tea seems the perfect companion.
I'm not sure if it's fasting, or fasting and drinking this tea while watching a good movie, that has me very relaxed.
Perhaps it's the L-Theanine per serving, as I have happily drunk 3-4 cups this evening. I feel a sense
of tranquility that I rarely experience these days. It's a little like that first (and probably only) chrisp cold beer of the evening
that I have gone without for 2 nights now, and don't miss it. I encourage you to read up on the benefits of green tea.
There are Japanese studies that have shown it to be good for your teeth and gums, so you can rinse and pull
with it, a useful tip towards the end of your cup. This matcha tea is strong and you should find it lasts longer than the 20 servings
of 5g as listed on the packet, it maybe good for something like three times that. When drunk as a tea, I don't even need
a full teaspoon per coffee cup. Definitely my favorite value for money product from Healthpost.
