Glucosamine Info

Glucosamine is a natural constituent of healthy cartilage and synovial fluid in the joints of the body. It is derived from glucose and the amino acid glutamine, and as we age we tend to produce less. Our bodies use glucosamine to build and repair cartilage, tendons, ligaments, synovial fluid and other tissues.

Glucosamine Benefits

We need glucosamine primarily for the healthy structure, strength and shock absorbing functions of our joints. Although glucosamine is produced by our bodies, our capacity to do this diminishes with age.

Glucosamine provides the raw material for our bodies to maintain and repair the components critical for healthy joint mobility and function. It is a beneficial therapeutic supplement in osteoarthritis, a degenerative disease of the joints of the body.

Glucosamine Side Effects

Glucosamine sulphate is in a different category to sulphur drugs and sulphate-containing foods, and will not cause a reaction in people with sulphate allergies. Because glucosamine is usually sourced from shellfish shells, people with shellfish allergies should naturally avoid these products. A vegetarian supplement is available (manufactured using no animal product). People with unstable blood sugar conditions are advised to consult a health practitioner before taking a glucosamine supplement.

  • Top Supplement for Top Dog

Our c.18 year old miniature border collie still sprints around like a puppy & would limp around afterwards. Since adding Glucosamine for Dogs, our dog now enjoys her sprints pain-free.

  • Best product on the market for arthritic dogs!

I tried several different brands, strengths etc etc & nothing could stop the arthritic limp from my Neo Mastiff x Pit Bull. At 60 kg & 7 years old, he's no spring chicken. After reading reviews on this product i was skeptical. Eventually i tried it and WOW, it really works. I put the powder into empty gelatin capsules #000 & give him two per day. After 3 weeks he was running around like nothing was wrong. After 4 weeks he no longer limps when walking & runs freely without lifting his leg. Would definitely reccommend this product & will continue using it on my dogs.
