Olive leaf
Olive leaf (Olea europaea) has been used traditionally in the treatment of cough, obstinate fever and intermittent fever. The active constituent in Olive leaf is Oleuropein. The Oleuropein content of Olive leaf has been shown to have very high antioxidant activity, and may be beneficial for antimicrobial action. Olive leaf has been found to be useful in the treatment of viral and bacterial infections, especially when fever is present.
Astragalus
Astragalus (Astragalus membranaceus) has been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine for thousands of years, often in combination with other herbs, to strengthen the body against disease. Astragalus is an adaptogen, meaning it helps protect the body against various stresses, including physical, mental, or emotional stress. Astragalus is used as a tonic to support the immune system, enhancing the body’s resistance to colds and upper respiratory infections.
Zinc
Situations of infection, stress, and acute trauma can lead to lower blood levels of zinc. Mild deficiency can result in impaired immune response. Zinc supplements have been reported to promote immune function. Zinc has been shown to be effective for helping the body to reduce the effect of symptoms and duration of the common cold in some controlled studies.
Beta-1,3,-Glucan
Beta-glucan is a fibre-type polysaccharide (complex sugar) derived from the cell wall of baker’s yeast, oat and barley fibre, and many medicinal mushrooms. Numerous experimental studies have shown beta-glucan to support active and healthy white blood cell levels. White blood cells are the infection fighters in the body’s immune system.
