Aku Regular Pads are great for light to average flow. Aku reusable menstrual pads are the modern cloth alternative to disposable pads, can last for years and can replace over 120 disposables.

Aku pads are made in NZ with a combination of natural & synthetic fibres to achieve an optimal balance between comfort, function, and consideration for the environment. The pad base is a fast drying polyester knit that has been bonded to a breathable and waterproof polyurethane film, that will last up to 1000 laundry cycles!

Dry Top: The soft suede-cloth top layer wicks moisture away from your skin and into the absorbent inner core.

Natural Core: The Bamboo inner core has four times the absorption of cotton. Bamboo fabric has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties; this fast-growing crop requires few or no chemical inputs and with minimal water used to farm it has less impact on our environment.

Snap Closure: Polycetal Resin Snaps are a fast and secure way to attach your pad. The wings wrap around the gusset of your underwear and snap closed.
  • While drying, do not fold the pad or keep on a flat surface.
  • Never use a wet/damp pad.
  • Do not iron the cloth pad.
  • Do not use bleach or fabric softeners.
  • Store in a clean and dry place.
  • Wash the cloth pad before first use.
Simply: Snap the wings around your underwear with the smooth side facing down. 

  • Change once every 2-6 hours even on light flow days.
  • Use mild soap to clean the pad and rinse thoroughly to make sure no soap remains on the pad.
  • Dry it in direct sunlight when possible, or tumble dry on a low heat.

Slightly longer than regular pads and initially hard to see my 'flow' as they're black but they're great. I thought I'd use these for my lighter days but I use them 95% of the the time. Just be aware that you need to use fitted underwear as baggy knickers make the pad move if you're jogging or walking.
