There is nothing better than having a well-stocked and organised pantry, to make healthy eating a whole lot easier.
When it comes to healthy eating, I’m all about balance. Whether it’s a nutrient-dense salad full of seasonal produce, or a delicious dessert packed with wholefood ingredients – healthy food doesn’t mean boring, and delicious doesn’t mean sugar-dense either.
There are a few things you will almost always find in my pantry, and they all share three things; they’re simple ingredients, nutritious, and versatile.
1. Simple:
You’ll find my favourite ingredients all stocked here on HealthPost’s shelves, or maybe even already in your pantry. Healthy eating doesn’t need to be over complicated, so accessibility is important. I try and opt for and honour simple ingredients. My friends and family are often surprised at how few ingredients I’ll use in a recipe, and how delicious it turns out. Less is more, after all!
2. Nutritious:
Whether it’s ingredients full of fibre, rich in healthy fats, or packed with protein, food should be full of flavour, fuel, and most importantly enjoyable. One of my top tips to make healthy eating easier to have your pantry packed with nutritious wholefoods. When you have all the ingredients on hand, it makes whipping up a healthy meal or snack so much easier and stress-free.
3. Versatile:
No one wants to buy an ingredient and only be able to use it for a one-off meal, right? The ingredients I use are adaptable and ideal for all sorts of different meal ideas – whether you’re using superfoods for smoothies or disguised in dips and desserts, or nuts and seeds for salads or delicious homemade bread or slices – you won’t get enough of all the different ways to use these.
My top 6 food & drink staples for a healthy pantry
1. Superfoods: for a nutritional (and convenient) boost
My top picks:
- BioBalance Certified Organic Spirulina Powder
- BioBalance Certified Organic Japanese Matcha Powder
- Matakana Superfoods Chia seeds
Why do I love Superfoods?
Superfoods are a fantastic way to add extra nutrients to your daily routine. We’re so lucky with the huge amount of amazing ingredients we have at our fingertips, in a super convenient form.
I love to make sure I’m getting a healthy dose of nutrients through superfoods. Smoothies packed with spirulina powder, matcha powder, and chia seeds as well as other goodies like fresh leafy greens, pineapple, banana or mango and a good source of protein is my go-to, especially when I’m on the go.

2. Broths and Stocks: for wholefood gut support
My top pick:
Nutra Organics Chicken Bone Broth Garden Herb
Why do I love Broths and Stocks?
A good quality broth is a must-have pantry staple, they are so versatile and add so much flavour to meals, not to mention great for your gut. During the cooler months I love making nourishing soups and ramens with broths and stocks, adding in any seasonal produce. During the warmer months when I don’t necessarily want a hot beverage or soup, I tend to use these versatile powders as a seasoning, they can be added to curries, vege nachos, and sauces too.

3. Natural Sweeteners: for healthier sweet treats
My top picks:
Why do I love Natural Sweeteners?
I must admit, I’m a bit of a sweet tooth but I don’t necessarily want the processed sugar hit. That’s why coconut sugar (with its lower Glycaemic Index than cane sugar) is the go-to sweetener for almost everything in our kitchen, from baking or raw treats to sweetening sauces and more.
If I’m feeling like I want a sugar free option but am still craving the sweetness I have organic monk fruit extract on hand too. Not sure where to start with natural sugars? Explore our guide to natural sweeteners to pick which one’s best for you.

4. Nuts, Seeds, and Nut Butter: for a satisfying, protein packed snack
My top picks:
- Melrose Macadamia Cashew 100% Nut Butter
- Chantal Organics Salted Caramel Peanut Butter
- ROAR activated Seed and Nut Mix
Why do I love Nut Butters?
While I’m not a massive fan of snacking on nuts alone, I love topping oats or chia bowls with a mix of activated nuts and seeds for a delicious added crunch.
You will always find an assortment of nut butters in my pantry.
They’re so versatile, you can use them in so many more ways than just on toast. Add creamy nut butters to your morning smoothie or porridge with fresh fruit, in a raw treat, or straight from the spoon. Packed with healthy fats and protein, this one is a no brainer for a pantry staple.

5. Protein Powders: to fuel long days
My top pick:
Go Good Pea Protein Isolate + Organic Vanilla
Why do I love Protein Powders?
Vanilla is my go-to flavour of protein powder, it goes with literally everything! You can easily switch up the flavours by adding in cacao or fresh/ frozen fruit and it also tastes great on its own (or with a shot of espresso).
I often add protein powder to raw baking and sweet treats for extra nutrition and fuel. Whether you’re looking for workout recovery support or a source of protein to fuel every day, HeathPost’s growing range of plant based and whey protein powders has something for everyone.

Why do I love nourishing drinks?
Preparing a good quality brew shouldn’t just mean another trip to your local coffee shop – there’s so many wellness tonics and nourishing elixirs you can experiment with packed with healthy spices, superfoods, herbs, and functional mushrooms.
Our liver always needs a little bit of love, especially after summer celebrations and overindulging. The Wild Dispensary Liver Bitter Drops are super easy to take and taste good too. Another one of my favourites is the Organic India Honey Chamomile Tea, I always have this on hand if I’m feeling overwhelmed or to help wind down from a busy day. And there’s nothing quite like a comforting cup of cacao.
