Highlights
Phytocare's Papaya Ointment with Calendula is formulated to soothe, moisturise and protect your skin.  This new and improved formula has an ALL NATURAL moisture-rich base of skin-loving ingredients, including Shea Butter, Jojoba Oil, Macadamia Oil and Vitamin E, providing increased moisturising properties and improved consistency!

Papaya is traditionally a much loved remedy for soothing bites, minor burns, dry skin, nappy rash and cracked nipples.  Papaya (also known as Paw Paw in Australia) is a fantastic source of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and enzymes.  Our special fermentation process concentrates these nutrients and cultivates beneficial probiotics.  The value of fermented Papaya in health and skincare has been recognised for over 100 years.  Combined with the natural soothing properties of Calendula, Papaya Ointment with Calendula provides the perfect synergistic combination to soothe, moisturise and protect your skin!

Apply ointment topically to:

  • Soothe cracked nipples
  • Calm and protect against nappy rash
  • Care for dry, cracked, irritated skin

Papaya + Calendula = the perfect synergistic combination to soothe, moisturise and protect your skin!

Phytocare Papaya Ointment with Calendula is 100% Petrochemical Free

WHAT ARE PETROCHEMICALS?

Petrochemicals are manufactured from crude petroleum, one of the most common petrochemicals found in skin care products is petrolatum, also known as petroleum jelly.

WHY SHOULD PETROLEUM JELLY BE AVOIDED?

It is listed as a probable human carcinogen by the European Union (EU). It is banned in EU Cosmetics (unless very specific purification standards are met). It is commonly contaminated with Polycyclic Aromatic HydrocarbOns (PAHS). PAHS are strongly linked to a wide variety of detrimental diseases. And It tends to interfere with the body's own natural moisturising mechanism, leading to dry skin and chapping.

The ingredients are all natural and include: Butyrospermum parkii (Shea butter), Macadamia ternifolia oil, Simmondsia chinensis (Jojoba) oil, Carica papaya (Papaya) ferment, D Alpha Tocopherol  (Vitamin E), Tribehenin ( derived from Brassica napus), Sorbitan olivate (Olive derived emulsifier), Beeswax, Fragrance (naturally derived), Styrax benzoin resinoid,Calendula officinalis flower extract.

papaya ointment with calendula

This review is for the large 75 g tube. I have purchased the 25 g tube for ages, and have been very pleased with it. Thought I would get the large tube to save having to order the small all the time, but was slightly disappointed - I have found it to be gritty.

great product!

I bought this product based on others reviews to use as a nipple cream while breast feeding my twins. It has worked really well as a moisteriser and excellently as a lube for the breast pump and it tastes nice with no nasty chemicals so is good for babies latching. As far as healing goes it is pretty good but not nearly as quick and effective as Schuessler Tissue Salts Cream Calc Fluor. So I use a combination of both tissue salts when the babies aren't going to feed soon. And the paw paw when they may ingest it. -not that I would encourage large ingestion of it but residue may not be too bad.

I am just trialling this product after always using Lucas brand, but finding it lovely to use, great texture, smells great and effective against chapped lips in these cold winter winds. I am happy to recommend this product, it really is lovely.

This immediately soothes the lips and my lips felt soft when I applied it on instantly. It is quite oily though and the scent is mild but I do not think everyone will like it. A little bit goes a long way so do not squeeze out too much, just a little will be sufficient, trust me. As for the price, it is reasonable for the size.

I was given this as a gift with my first baby and I'm really Wow-ed! I used it on sore and cracked nipples and it was just so soothing and because the ointment is moist, it glides gently and easily which help with the soreness. I tried medela nipple cream and it can't even compare to paw paw. It was dry and hard to put on my nipple and it caused me a lot of pain. Great product this one and highly recommended!
