Arnica Cream can be found in almost every home, or sports bag. It is a popular first line support for muscles, joints, ligaments, for bumps and strains.
What is Arnica?
Arnica’s botanical name is Arnica montana, it is a plant in the Daisy family (Asteraceae). It is a tall flowering perennial that grows in high altitude areas of central Europe. The yellow flowers are fragrant and harvested for use in herbal and homeopathic preparations.
Does Arnica Cream work?
Arnica has been used for centuries – and it is still being used successfully today. It’s popular for use after injuries and also with athletes. Try it for yourself to support muscles, joints and soft tissue after bumps and strains. For more reassurance check out our customer reviews on our Arnica Cream product pages.
When should I use Arnica Cream?
A pot or tube of Arnica Cream is an essential addition to your home care first aid kit. Arnica has been used traditionally to support muscles and joints and is perfect for the whole family.
- Massage onto stiff, uncomfortable joints to warm up in the morning.
- Apply before and after exercise to support movement and flexibility of muscles and joints.
- For extra support for muscles, try a topical Magnesium Oil & Cream product.
- Use on unbroken skin after a sports related injury to joints and ligaments. For broken skin try a cream from the Calendula Skin Care range.
- Apply to the skin after any bumps to support a healthy recovery.

It’s important to note that Arnica is not recommended for use on broken skin.
Is Arnica Cream safe during pregnancy?
Arnica should not be taken internally while pregnant, however it can be applied as a cream or gel - as long as the other ingredients in the product are pregnancy safe also. Make sure you read the information on the product page and packaging before use. If you are pregnant, it’s always a good idea to reach out to your midwife or trusted health practitioner if you would like to use something you’re unsure about. Creams containing Arnica have been used by many women all over the world in the recovery phase after childbirth.
