Love this Henna
"I mix this up with a little freeze-dried coffee, slather it on and leave it on for an hour under a towel. It covers my greys and looks completely natural. It fades out really evenly, too. It's my new go-to."

"I mix this up with a little freeze-dried coffee, slather it on and leave it on for an hour under a towel. It covers my greys and looks completely natural. It fades out really evenly, too. It's my new go-to."
"I absolutely love this!!! After trying Nature's Tint hair dye and it not working I was skeptical of using a product that was even more natural but the colour took amazingly to my hair!! Literally the best dark brown I've ever achieved. I added olive oil, apple cider vinegar and black tea to the mix, left on for 3hrs with glad wrap, tinfoil and a beanie, it came out amazing!!"
"Great hair dye, a bit like green mud when putting in on but fantastic result, great colour and hair very soft and shiny!"
"This gives a lovely result, used black tea as per instructions and it came out perfectly. Leaves hair feeling nice too. Will use this one again 🙂"
"This is my first usage of Rainbow Research Henna, as Desert Shadow brand (used 3 times previously was not in stock at Health Post. My hair, fine but lots of it, and shoulder length, was 2+ years without any hair colour. Previous to the 2 years I had used an organic hair colour for 10 years, and my hair had become very dry and brittle. A Hairdresser from the organic hairdresser in Kerikeri advised to completely grow the dye out and see how my hair reacted. The result was soft and wavy and 30-50% grey, remainder dark brown. I chose to go back to henna, (used from 2004 to 2012 )as my skin colour and grey hair colour did not seem to work together. I seemed to look dull, tired and sallow. To me, the Rainbow Research henna was light on instruction for grey coverage, compared with Desert Shadow. However, both brands of henna worked very well. Simply wash hair clean, before using henna. If product has been used, mousses, hairspray, gel etc, there are various methods to ""clarify the hair"". Do not condition hair prior to henna application. We apply henna wet. My husband is a multi-talented Viking kiwi bloke, he puts the henna on for me and duly wraps the henna covered hair in cling wrap. I had purchased Rainbow Research Mahogany and Sable (dark brown) and did a mix of : 65 grams mahogany, 35 grams of sable, along with 2 long double shots of coffee, 2 TB apple cider vinegar, as suggested on Rainbow Research website. The result was good, but could be described as if I had dyed my hair dark brown and then red was growing through, the red covered the grey but the brown did not overlay the red. . I could simply use more Sable and less Mahogany. But. . . Next time we have decided to follow the Desert Shadow directions, dye with Mahogany one day for grey coverage. Then the next day dye with the Sable to overlay the red, with red glints showing through. I leave the henna on my hair with a warm hat as heat activates the colour, for the maximum time recommended. I do not shampoo hair after henna application. But use a conditioner to close the hair shaft. I shampoo a few days later, or sooner if needed. The henna lasts as long as it takes the hair to grow and start showing grey at the roots. About a month in summer and longer in winter for me. Then you simply mix up about a third of the full hair application and concentrate on the root areas. When you use henna, Rainbow Research say to avoid using any product with essential oil in, so I needed to look for a shampoo that would not irritate the scalp. Health Post did not have the Rainbow Research shampoo and conditioner, so I bought that offshore. Pleased to report the shampoo and conditioner worked very well, hair soft and manageable, looks clean and no scalp irritation. I know it's hard to stock so many different products, but would encourage the lovely folks t Health Post to have the Rainbow Research shampoo and conditioner to work alongside the Henna products, and gentle and not too many weird sounding ingredients. Hope this helps someone wondering how to go about the henna process for a more natural hair colour. Sure did give me an uplift. I wanted to let my hair stay grey, but have to say, the little bit of colour has been nothing short of mood-boosting and I am very comfortable with that!"
"Loved the colour effect and I would say it covered most of the white hairs (I don’t have many), but lasted less than 2 weeks"
"Waste of money!"
"This product is driving me crazy, it doesn't do what it says, cover grey, even after, leaving on for 3 hrs"
"I have very fine, dry, frizzy (starting to grey) hair. Not only does the colour take well and look good, this product makes my hair noticeably softer and sleeker. I mix this colour with the dark auburn to create a more natural look. I also mix it with organic amla fruit powder as this helps to set the colour and condition my hair."
"I ordered rainbow henna dark brown and I mixed it as it said but no colour came out my hair is the same didn’t even cover my grey hair it’s a waste of money"
