How to use Green Tea
The ideal length of time to steep Green Tea is 1-3 minutes. Steeping too long it can lead to a bitter taste as natural tannins are released from the tea leaves. This is not harmful however and some people prefer a more bitter flavour to their cup.
Matcha has a more vibrant, green hue and a fresher, milder taste than standard green tea. Research shows that one teaspoon of matcha green tea powder contains 137 times more antioxidants than regular green tea! Also, because it’s a powdered whole leaf, you get more chlorophyll and fibre. Being from the tea plant, matcha green tea does contain caffeine, between 20-70mg per serving – like a standard cup of instant coffee.
