PLANTCOLOR™ pigments come from roots: beets, radishes and purple potatoes. Enjoy the beauty of anthocyanins and betalains in these non-toxic, 100% plant-based lip colors.
As you can imagine, the process to make pigments from plants is lengthy and precious...these roots grew in the bright sun, soaked in the rain, were pollinated by insects, made it through a full growing season and naturally processed to complete their coloring destiny. Within a day of harvest, the root juices are extracted sprayed onto a carrier medium (maltodextrin or acacia gum), dried and milled microfine. They get tested for purity and blending into balms.

Know that you are literally applying root vegetables to your lips, and you will sense their natural taste and smell. Lightly scented with cherry-orange-vanilla and sweetness from organic stevia. The tartness comes from the citric acid used to preserve the pigments and of course, like all Hurraw balms these are loaded with organic cacao, coconut, and Montana grown organic safflower oil.

"Unfortunately I can't stand the smell of this product so won't be using. It does not have a nice scent unlike the Raspberry flavour by the same brand, which is great if you are after a tinted balm and looks similar in colour to this one (No 3), just a more sheer version."
"This has a nice smooth, glossy consistency and shine and smells delicious. I was expecting something more lipstick like, but this is a tinted balm. It does however have a heavier pigmentation than the brands tinted lip balms, so there is noticeable colour. It’s a quick easy slick on to add a bit of colour to your lips without having to apply lipstick. Of course it’s good to know you are not ingesting anything nasty in this product."
