Psyllium husks, or isphagula, are mainly grown in the Middle East and are full of fibre. Fibre is found in soluble and insoluble forms. Insoluble fibre remains unchanged when passing through the digestive system, whereas soluble fibre forms a gel-like substance. Soluble fibre combines with water in the colon and helps support the passing of waste from the colon. With today’s modern lifestyles and diets, it can sometimes be difficult to obtain enough fibre from our food. "My daughter suggested psyllium and I've heard from many people but I couldn't take it as a tea but the capsules are most certainly helping my IBS of five years. I started with the one for two weeks than two and now up to three. Of the thoroughly recommended for this situation which makes life so so difficult and this is helped ease it provided I watch my diet as well in conjunction."
