Description
Pacific Harvest Irish Moss is an amazing sea vegetable, also referred to as Sea Moss (although technically they are from different species, but they are used in the same way). Pacific Harvest’s Irish Moss is harvested from an organically certified area in France (or Ireland depending on the season), and is Eco-cert Certified.  It has been tested for contaminants according to the requirements in the ANZ Food Standards Code. Grown in EU (Ireland or France). Packed in New Zealand.
Ingredients

Irish Moss (Chondrus crispus) dried sea vegetable 100%

Directions

Use: As a vegan egg replacement in baking. Add to smoothies and broths as a cleansing and nourishing supplement. Can be used as a vegan gelatine substitute. Use to thicken sauces, replace fat or oil in dressings, or to give a light, fluffy texture to frostings, dips, nut cheeses and deserts.

Storage: Irish Moss is light sensitive and may lighten in colour if exposed to sunlight for extended periods of time.  Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Seaweeds are hygroscopic, meaning they absorb moisture from the air, so seal securely once opened.

Precautions
  • Irish Moss offers an excellent source of naturally occurring iodine. Please pay attention to the serving size suggestions on pack and consult a health care professional if you have concerns about your health or further questions about iodine.
  • Allergens: May contain traces of crustacea, fish and molluscs.

Irish moss

"Great stuff for your health I highly recommend it! But the only way I can drink it is in a cup of cacao or coffee I’m not a coffee drinker so I use cacao which is better but no matter how many times I wash it, it always tastes of the sea but your body gets used to it!"

Tricky to make it sticky

"Making the Irish Moss into a gel is a lot more tricky than they say. I tried to make it twice soaking it in water for the raw overnight method following the 'tried and true' recipe. It just expanded the seaweed so it was crunchy flakes sitting in a small puddle of water. I left it nearly 2 days to see if it would get more gel-like but in the end had to use the simmer method to make it a gel. The first time it obviously simmered too long (as it had expanded already) it was like cactus rock hair gel. After the second failed attempt at soaking overnight I had to simmer it again but this time it turned more gel like but nothing like the picture. Because it didn't look an appealing product to put in smoothies I just ate it as a gel. Not palatable but edible."

Magic stuff

"This cleared my sons chest in 3 days of using it. Just a 1/4 teaspoon in a smoothie 😄"
