Omega-3 and 6 oils are the building blocks that form integral parts in our brains, cell membranes, hormones and eyes. They’re known as essential fatty acids because we need to consume these oils to stay healthy – we can’t make them ourselves. But our bodies can synthesise Omega-9 when needed.
Omega-3 rich oils
Marine oils offer more bioavailable Omega-3 compared to seed and nut oils. Their active components EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic) support joint, heart, skin and brain health. Algae oil is a great marine plant-based option.

Seed & nut oils
Seed & nut oils are healthy fats that contain a combination of Omega-3, Omega-6, and Omega-9. As Omega-6 is found predominantly in animal fats, a vegan or vegetarian diet could need to be boosted with Omega-6 rich plant oils. Evening Primrose and Hempseed Oil contain the active component GLA (Gamma Linoleic Acid) which supports Omega-6 synthesis, lending to healthy skin and female hormones.
