Description

Flax Original capsules are pressed from certified organic flax seed, Linum usitatissimum (Linseed). The oil is high quality, extra virgin, unrefined, and contains no toxic substances or cholesterol. It is cold pressed in the absence of light, air and reactive metals and packaged in black HDPE plastic under an inert gas blanket to further protect it against light and oxygen.

Waihi Bush Flax Seed Oil is approximately 60% Omega-3 alpha linolenic acid (ALA), and also contains the Omega-6 linoleic acid (LA) and the monounsaturated Omega-9 oleic acid.

Research has shown that most western diets have an imbalance of Omega essential fatty acids. While our bodies are evolved on a 1:1 ratio of Omega-3 to Omega-6, researchers have shown that many people consume more than 20 times more Omega-6 than Omega-3! This deficiency of essential Omega-3 fatty acids results in the symptoms of sub-optimal health, including low immunity, vision problems, dry skin and hair, low energy and fatigue, learning problems, mood swings and depression.

Directions

Waihi Bush recommends taking 2-5 capsules up to 3 times per day for an adult; 1-2 capsules, 2 times a day for a child 3-18 years old.

Be aware that small children can choke on capsules.

These tablets are essentials for me and my family. If I stop taking them within a week I start to feel really run down and often come down with a cold. My baby also started to develop dry, red patches on the tops of his arms and within a week of taking the oil - punctured the capsules and put the oil into his food - the rash had gone. Great stuff for all ages!

I buy flax seed oil capsules for my teenage son - keeps at bay his eczema. I usually by Flaxomega but thought I'd try this brand for a change. (Did try another brand a few years ago with the same results.) My son's eczema returned. Have put him back on Flaxomega and bingo! Eczema gone again. I am finishing the Waihi Bush batch.
