Small, dark, a bit like soft wood chips. Not the usual chocolate sensation, much more bitter, but there's an after taste that is chocolate for sure. Have only tried them "raw" and they combine well with Goji berries. Definite improvement in energy levels once you've had some. Looking forward to trying them in baking.

- Wow - what a horrible, bitter taste... Review by Adrienne
Wow - what a horrible, bitter taste. Sorry! Nothing like chocolate. I was just about to tip the lot in the bin, some have already gone, but I thought I shouldn't waste $20 so I've kept them. Not sure how I'm going to try and eat them, but I'll give it a go, seeing as they are supposed to be so good for you. But 11 raw cacao beans to make you feel good? - how many little bits is that? Must be a couple of handfuls. I don't think so.

Having heard about Cacao nibs but never having tried them I have been pleasantly surprised! They are a bit bitter but I really enjoy the crunch they give to my breakfast, and knowing the nutritional benefits I am getting makes it all the more better.

This product can be likened in taste to plain unsweetened Cocoa powder steeped in Whiskey. If that sounds like something you like you will enjoy this. I don't mind it as I prefer whiskey over other spirits however it is not what I expected it also does not have a melt in your mouth, quality I like in chocolate, I will persevere with it as I am on a clean eating diet.

Obviously the taste is nothing like a standard sugar laden chocolate bar. Once used to the bitterness i find them really nice to add to baking and in yogurt for a crunch, interesting flavour burst and for health benefits
