Kale Chips Info

Kale is a member of the Brassica – or cruciferous - vegetable family, and a close relative of other well-known vegetable cultivars within the same family such as broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage and Brussels sprouts. It contains high levels of a number of key micronutrients, including the B vitamin group, vitamin E, vitamin K, manganese, iron, magnesium and potassium.

Cooking can diminish the levels of a number of these vitamins, and as such, consuming it raw is a popular way to enjoy its benefits. Kale chips are made by dehydrating the tough leaves to form a crisp, tasty green vegetable chip, which is often seasoned with herbs and spices to add extra flavour and variety.
