Goodbye Ouch Sun Balm is a ground-breaking, high performance natural sunscreen that delivers SPF40 protection plus the nourishing benefits of a skin balm.
There is so much to love about this unique water-free formulation. You need only apply a small amount - much less than other sunscreens. Unlike most zinc based products it absorbs quickly in to your skin and doesn’t leave a white film. And, good news - it will not slide off your skin or creep in to and irritate your eyes. If that is not enough, rich in quality oils and antioxidants, all ingredients have been chosen to moisturise and protect the skin.
With 4 hours water resistance Goodbye Ouch Sun Balm is the sunscreen of choice for water sports and leisure and all outdoor physical activity.
Fully tested to meet the Sunscreen standard AS/NZ Standard 2604:2012, one of the highest standards in the world due to its mandatory broad spectrum performance.
One of a very few certified natural sunscreens, you can be sure it is safe for both people and the planet.
Available in a 80g tube.
  • Check ingredients for known allergies or sensitivity
  • Patch test before first use
  • Best performance is to apply on its own- not in conjunction with foundation makeup
Apply: a small amount evenly 20 minutes in advance of sun exposure to face or body. Gently massage in to skin until absorbed. Reapply at least every 2 hours, and after swimming or towel drying.
Please be kind to your natural sunscreen and keep it under 30C.

Straight oil. Impossible to apply makeup over top. I’m used to heavy oil/zinc based sunscreens. First I’ve ever used that I’ve rejected. Healthpost staff beyond gracious in regards to.

Top of it's class

Really enjoyed this sunscreen that is more like a moisturiser. Effect natural sunscreen, that moisturises at the same time. Is absorbed into your skin after a time and does not leave a sticky residue or white cast on your skin. Believe me when I say I have tried a lot of natural sunscreens - I have done the hard yards. This one is great! Especially when it comes to finding something that the teenagers/ young adults of the house will also use without complaint, as I refuse to buy the chemical laden variety. Will definitely purchase again.

A wonder product

What a fantastic product! I've been looking for sun protection that is good for me and the environment and have really struggled to find one that actually works. This is perfect! It takes about 10 minutes to loose the creamy colour (so be patient!) but then it is absorbed provides perfect flawless protection from the strong NZ sun. It doesn't feel thick or clumpy and rubs in really well. I work a lot in the oceans and it's so important to me that the products I use don't impact those fragile environments. Thank you goodbye ouch for bringing this wonder product to the market!

This is what I'm using from now on

I have tried tons of sunblocks before and hated how they smeared on, like a watery mess. I like that this one acts and feels like a lotion. I can tell where I applied it. I like to spread it all over my face and lips, and for me, there was pretty quick absorption. When I sweat it doesn't feel like it is just dripping into my eyes. I also have started putting it on the backs of my hands for long car trips, which I really like. I also have used it for four hour stints, like when I'm gardening and mowing, and that I don't have to reapply halfway through. It is definitely going to be my go to this summer and whenever I am out and about in the sun. Thanks!

Not for me unfortunately

Doesn't rub in well and leaves a white/pink cast on my face. Cannot comment on performance because I won't be going outside looking like this. Have let it sit in hopes it will sink in better but after 10 minutes it has only marginally improved. Struggling to find a high spf face sunscreen thats not greasy, white looking, or stings my eyes. This one at least doesnt sting my eyes, but it is not the one for me. Supplier Response - 10.12.18Hi AJ, sorry that you feel Sun Balm does not suit you. Sounds like you’ve tried a few zinc sunscreens, and I understand your frustration. The older zinc sunscreens were not very pleasant to use and can leave a very noticeable white cast. Sun Balm is a little bit different than water-based creams, which we celebrate, but it might take a couple of uses to understand how much to apply and how it works over time. What is brilliant about the product is that it certified natural, and made for action. Our formulation is anhydrous (water free) which means that all the base ingredients are working to support the skin with antioxidant rich butters and oils. Most of these are certified organic. It also means the sun screen is highly water resistant and won’t run into eyes with physical activity or playing in water.Sun Balm uses a zinc oxide which is a new generation of technology that allows the skin colour to come through. Of all the zincs on the market, is the absolute clearest one we know. In fact, unlike most sunscreens, Sun Balm is not white when you get it from the tube, but a creamy colour because of the oils and butters. I find that the product takes about 10 minutes to settle into skin, and you don’t need large amounts.Kind regards, Becky CashmanFounder and Product Maker for Goodbye

Balmy but so nourishing
21-11-2018 20:50:08
It REALLY is balmy, so you won't want to use this under a silk dress or something, but it is great for the beach and leaves no white cast. The ingredients are gorgeous and I swear my skin feels as though I have had a spa treatment the day after using this. Rubs in quickly too, which is good for impatient kids.

Love this product, have tried others before and didn\'t like the way they felt on my skin so much so that I stopped using them This one smells nice and absorbs so well. Pity the biggest size it comes in is 80g.
