Highlights

Dolphin Clinic Pet Vet Hoof Oil contains:

  • Coconut oil is rich in healthy, medium chain triglycerides (saturated fat) that nourish the hoof and reduce the likelihood of splits/cracks whilst also creating a lovely shine for showing application.
  • Grapeseed oil helps restore and strengthen keratin (the vital structural protein in strong hooves, hair and nails). Grapeseed oil is high in vitamin E - a fat soluble antioxidant essential for the maintenance of hoof structure, and vitamin C - which helps ensure nourishment deep into the keratin cell structure.
  • Beeswax helps create a natural waterproof barrier to keep moisture in without creating an artificial seal on the hoof.   This also ensures that the coconut, grapeseed and palmarosa oils remain on the hoof for as long as possible.
  • Palmarosa, also known as Indian or Turkish geranium, facilitates normal cell regeneration and new hoof growth.  This traditional essential oil has antibacterial and antifungal properties that help to prevent foot rot and common fungal hoof infections.

Dolphin Clinic Hoof Oil does NOT contain:

  • Neatsfoot oil – rendered from the shins and feet of cattle, is a commercially produced product traditionally used to soften leather.    Health benefits are limited and many Neatsfoot oil products have added petrochemical mineral oil used as a thinner.
  • Stockholm Tar – a pine resin produced by the burning of pinewood, whilst creating a waterproof barrier offers very little nutritional or moisturising value for the hoof. Numerous studies indicate negative health effects for horse and rider.
  • Hoof Grease - a blend that may contain rendered down animal fat, bone and offal, petrochemical mineral oil along with several chemical insecticides, antifungals and preservatives.

Do not use essential oils repeatedly for more than 10 days.

Always consult a professional if you are in any doubt of the severity of the condition or symptoms worsen.

Apply daily or weekly as required, depending on hoof, weather and soil conditions.
