The aim of ŌKU’s kaupapa/purpose has always been to help people discover and experience the amazing properties held within our beautiful ngahere/forests. All products are beautifully presented in plastic-free packaging and eye-catching, distinctly kiwiana artwork. 

ŌKU are guided by a philosophy to always be a good kaitiaki/guardian to the land and practice sustainability to help reduce their carbon footprint wherever possible – as well as to acknowledge the traditions that surround using these special plants.   

In 2022, ŌKU was named the winner of Māori Businesswoman of the year in Sales & Marketing, and their much-loved Kawakawa & Arnica Balm won The Best of Natural Awards in the Hair & Body Healing Balm Category.
