Protein Bars Info

While nutritionists may argue over the percentage of our diets that should comprise protein, most will agree that a good proportion of the population does not consume enough to maintain good health. The proteins we eat are broken down into amino acids that are then reassembled into other proteins for use throughout the body – they are critical for the functioning of our cells, as well as building strong muscles and bones.

Good food sources include most animal products including eggs and meat, although there are some good plant sources too – quinoa, beans, broccoli, and nuts in particular. However, many people don’t eat enough to stay well. For that reason, protein supplements have become increasingly popular in recent years, particularly at times of increased requirement such as pregnancy and exercise – and bars are one of the easiest and quickest ways to boost your daily intake when needed.

Product Reviews

  • A handy healthy snack

My little one loves these. They're not super cheap for the size but they are a great healthy treat & a small handy size to fit in your handbag so you've always got a healthy snack on hand. Just wish they came in a bulk/multipack size to reduce the per bar cost! :)

  • Tiny bar, son wouldn't eat it

This bar was so much smaller than I expected. My 3yo wouldn't eat it and he usually loves bliss ball type/fruit & nut products. Glad I only bought one.

  • Filling without nausea

These are great for before the gym, I've eaten them as close as 20 minutes before a workout and I don't get the nausea or burping I sometimes get with protein bars too close to a workout. They're nice and solid (I don't like gooey) without sitting there in your gut. The diving chocolate flavour tastes awesome!
