Weleda was a familiar and trusted presence in our home throughout my childhood. Mum - HealthPost founder Linley Butler, would whip out the Hypercal Cream for our wounds, Arnica for our bruises, and she always carried the versatile and deliciously scented Rose-Calendula Cream in her handbag.
I’ve been lucky to visit the Weleda gardens in Hawkes Bay and see the Weleda ethos in action. It’s a magical place and I’m so impressed with how Weleda walk their talk, combining truth to their founding principles with continued innovation.
When I was pregnant with my first child Weleda gave me a gift of their gorgeous calendula baby products. These became the signature smell of my children’s infancy and I’ve gifted these products to many other new parents (and I certainly think twice before giving someone products to put on their precious newborn).
My Mum first signed on to work with Weleda in 1990, and she still radiates the Weleda rose products to this day. I’ve developed some personal favourites over the years too. I love the Wild Rose Body Oil and I wouldn’t be without the all rounder Skin Food.
