Goodlife Fermentation Jar Kit makes fermenting your own vegetables even easier. This kit provides a simple yet effective self-burping lid that allows gas to escape and the magic of fermentation to occur. Try your hand at making Kimchi or Sauerkraut for good gut health and a lovely addition to meals. No fuss homemade food and when it's done store it in the fridge and add to meals.

Size: 90mm x 90mm diameter x 185mm high.
Capacity: 1 litre or 1000ml.
Give your jar and lid a good clean in hot soapy water and rinse well, then leave to dry before using for the first time

  1. Fill your jar with your recipe mix, pressing down firmly between each addition with a large spoon to remove air pockets.
  2. Leave approximately 2cm of room free at the top of the jar.
  3. The food should be completely submerged in the liquid.
  4. Use either a clean cabbage leaf folded or a small glass weight, clean stone or shot glass on the top to keep everything submerged. 
  5. Place your silicone lid on top and screw into place with the band.
  6. Ferment for approximately 5-14 days on the counter out of direct sun at a temp of ideally 16-23C.
  7. Please refer to your recipe for length of culturing time as it will vary.
  8. Once fermented to your liking store in the fridge and enjoy.
As your jar of goodness starts to ferment you will see the occasional bubble coming out the small opening in your lid. This is known as 'self-burping' and lets the gas escape.
