Highlights
Salt of the Earth Celtic Sea Salt is sourced from Brittany, France and is hand harvested. This ensures a pure, unrefined, fully mineralised, well balanced sea salt of the highest potency.

Salt of the Earth Celtic Sea Salt has the following attributes:

  • Tested by NATA Certified Laboratories
  • Contains No Anti-Caking Agents
  • Lower Sodium Chloride Level
  • Hand Harvested
  • BFA Approved (421AP)
  • Unwashed & Unbleached
  • Completely Unrefined
  • 100% Natural
  • No Additives
At Salt of the Earth we believe the best method of harvesting Sea Salt is simply by hand. Our Salt is naturally dried by the sun and wind then collected by farmers using long wooden tools. This is the only way to ensure all of the natural trace elements found in sea water are retained. 24 Minerals present in Sea Salt are regarded essential for life. These minerals work in co-action to replenish the body and flush out any excess Sodium Chloride.

Did you know that refined salt is washed & bleached making it more attractive and uniform in appearance, it is nothing more than a harmful by-product from industries that remove the minerals for their commercial value. During this process they also add anti-caking agents (Aluminium Silicate) to avoid the salt becoming moist and sometimes artificial sources of Iodine (Potassium Iodate). When the refining process is over the salt looks great, flows more easily out of your saltshaker, but 82 of the 84 trace elements have been extracted leaving you with solely Sodium Chloride. Our bodies are not designed to absorb Sodium Chloride alone, thus contributing to a wide range of health problems today.

Coarse Celtic Sea Salt

BFA Certified Coarse grey sea salt comes from the North West of France. Harvested manually without any mechanical manipulation. These delicate sun dried (medium sized) moist crystals remain unwashed and completely natural with nothing added and nothing removed. The original SALT of the EARTH Hand-Harvested coarse sea salt crystals are 100% natural and Chemical free. This fully mineralised moist sea salt is of the highest potency containing minerals and natural trace elements essential to the body's daily needs (Typical Analysis). Moist coarse Sea Salt crystals are best stored in natural clay or wooden containers that allow the salt to breathe. These coarse Crystals are ideal for use with our Ceramic Salt & Spice Grinder.

Fine Celtic Sea Salt

Fine ground salt is made from a special variety of BFA Certified Coarse Sea Salt. The Fine Ground is manufactured under strict quality control to ensure that the naturally high mineral content of the coarse variety is not lost. Needless to say. This fine ground variety is convenient and easy to use for table or cooking. The original Salt of the Earth's fine ground maintains the natural sparkle of all the essential minerals and trace elements found in 100% fully mineralised sea salt. Dissolves easily.

Just a few grains on the tongue, crunch first thing in the morning and 1/2 glass water on rising has made me feel better, can take more often, drinking water a little and often

Pricey but nice

I am not a huge salt user and am rather glad given the price of this! You have to feel good about using the "good stuff" though. Had no idea that regular salt is so altered from this Celtic sea salt. Would definitely buy again.

First class product

I randomly found a jar of this salt in a cafe almost a year ago and was so happy that I purchased some. When I wanted more I was horrified to find the cafe was under new ownership and they neither stocked the product or knew where to get it. I searched for months before finally tracking it down on the internet. Food is good again :-)

This is very nice salt and tastes great on food. It is also very healthy and increases your bodies water absorption because of all the minerals in the salt. Thank you to Health Post for making this product available to buy in New Zealand.

I have been using this salt for years and in my humble opinion it is the Rolls Royce of French salt. It has a good flavour & kept in a covered container by the hob is convenient to use when salt is required. It is expensive, so not to be wasted & the packet is always rinsed into the potatoes so not a grain is wasted. I feel good knowing I am using a very healthy product in my cooking, a philosophy I follow as far as the budget allows. Highly recommended.

The Best salt ever

We have been using this salt for nearly 3 years now.... when we first got it my daughter got a huge ulcer in her throat from the detox effect it had on her..this salt is prescribed as a medicine in France because of its medicinal properties.. \nEverything about it is superior to any other salt on the market..like anything thats highly beneficial for your health, you must pay for what you get. It is worth it!! Can\'t recommend it enough!!

Celtic Salt fine or coarse

Celtic Salt is great to use....as an ordinary salt on food..not to cook with...or you can use it as a Mineral body balancer...by sprinkling 1/2 tsp on your palm....to lick or intake and follow with a drink pf water...you will be amazed how much better you feel...My naturopath friend always called it the poor man\'s mineral body balancer....\nIt is hand harvested and imported from France..so lots of people do not try it because it is much more expensive thsn ordinary salt.\nand even Himalayan salt...which i use for a foot bath...we can uptake our mineral through our feet....\nBut if you try the lick it off your palm test you will see for yourself which one tastes better and gives better results...\nI was happy to find it again at Health Post....
