Healthy Strawberry Jelly Cups

Homemade jelly is a great addition to kids’ lunchboxes or birthday parties. With no nasty additives or refined sugars, this easy to make, fruity snack is a fantastic alternative to store-bought jelly cups, and you will feel great about giving them to your kids! By making your own jellies you can be sure there are no artificial colourings, flavours or additives, just fresh wholefood ingredients. The great thing with these jelly cups is that the options are endless; you can play around with different fruit combinations to make different flavours your kids will love.

Prep: 15 minutes
Makes: 8-10 jelly cups



  • 1 cup fresh or frozen strawberries, blended
  • 1 ½ TB gelatin


  • 1 TB water
  • 2 TB honey
  • 1 ½ TB gelatin
  • 1 cup plain full fat yoghurt
  • ¼ tsp. vanilla paste



  1. Blend strawberries until liquid in a high-speed blender.
  2. Add to a small saucepan and heat on medium until just starting to bubble, remove from heat and quickly whisk in gelatin.
  3. Pour strawberry mixture into the bottom of a cup or small container to make single servings filling only ½ way, place in refrigerator to set.


  1. Warm 1 tablespoon of water and the honey in a small pot over medium heat, add 1 ½ tablespoons gelatin, whisking continually until gelatin is dissolved. Do not let boil.
  2. Remove from heat and whisk in the yoghurt and vanilla paste.
  3. Once strawberry layer has set, pour in yoghurt layer on top and return to refrigerator to set.
  4. Store in refrigerator and eat within 3-4 days.

*For a decorative touch, save a small portion of the strawberry mixture. Once you have poured in the yogurt layer, add 8 drops of the saved strawberry mix in a curricular shape, and with a toothpick draw towards the center to create a flower like pattern.
