Magnesium Info

Magnesium is a key factor in over 350 enzymes. Magnesium assists in energy production, as well as supporting a calm nervous system. Over half of the magnesium in our body is found in bone tissue. Mostly magnesium functions inside our cells, and is involved in our metabolism helping to produce protein. Magnesium is also involved in the creation of our hard tooth enamel and supports a healthy heart.

Should I take Magnesium?

Magnesium is contained within many foods, but if the diet is high in refined sugar and processed grains you can miss out on an adequate intake. Stress, caffeine, alcohol, and diuretics can also deplete the body's magnesium levels, therefore magnesium supplements may be beneficial. 

 

Types of Magnesium

Magnesium supplements are available in tablet, capsule and liquid form. Liquid forms of magnesium include BioBalance Liposomal Magnesium which is known for its superior absorption. Magnesium creams & oils can be topically applied and massaged into the skin to absorb transdermally.

Magnesium Side Effects

Magnesium supplements are generally safe and have no adverse effects when taken within the recommended doses. Some forms of magnesium in higher amounts may cause nausea, stomach upset and diarrhoea.

    I had been taking various brands of Magnesium for several months and really felt the benefit of doing so. I chose this brand to try next as it seemed good, however at 500mg it is just too strong for me, i am 65kg male age 47. The main negative results for me have been the bowel movements, it has a quite strong laxative effect after the first couple of days, i am in to day 6 and have decided to stop taking it everyday, i am going to try one every three days, its difficult to separate the capsules, not really worth the effort, the capsules are quite big, i think they would be better half size at 250mg. I think the magnesium is good but too much for me...

  • Helps with chronic back pain

    I injured my lower back almost 10 years ago. I suffer from chronic pain and have tried every potion available and every prescribed pain killer available. The injury has lead to arthritis in my back now. I've always taken multivitamins and extra magnesium, omega etc. I recently started taking these and there has been a definite decrease in pain. I take them when I feel most in pain and in the morning or with meals. I'm starting to notice I'm sleeping better too. I wouldn't be without them.

  • Have difficulty sleeping but this helps

    I always have difficulty sleeping, often not getting to sleep until 5 in the morning but since using this I have found I do sleep better, not brilliantly but it does help.
